Kimber Warrior
Kimber Warrior
Kimber Warrior and Desert Warrior are customized 1911 that was designed for combat, that was built for the United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. The MARSOC pistol, known as the Kimber ICQB (Interim Close Quarter Battle) pistol, does not have an internal firing pin block as seen on the rest of the current Kimber Custom models, hence a "II" does not follow the Warrior or Desert Warrior's names. Kimber Warrior and Desert Warrior have an ambidextrous thumb safety, a lanyard loop, an internal extractor, and, in contrast to other Custom models, a standard length recoil spring guide rod to allow easier field stripping without tools. The black Warrior is externally very similar to the Custom TLE/RL II, but can be differentiate by its grip plated, ambidextrous safety and the Meprolight "Tactical Wedge" sights as opposed to the Meprolight "Slant" sights which are standard on most Kimber pistols.

Steyr M1912

| Tuesday, June 14, 2011 | 0 comments

The Steyr 1912 pistol was designed in around 1910, and entered production in 1911 by the Austrian firm Steyr Mannlicher by Karl Krnka, with first deliveries made to Chile, as Steyr Model 1911. Next year it was adopted by armed forces of the Austro-Hungarian empire, and also by Romanian military. Significant numbers of these pistols were produced at the famous Steyr arms factory until the end of WW1, originally in 9x23 Steyr caliber. When the Hitler's Germany occupied Austria in 1939, many of these pistols were converted to fire 9x19 Luger (9mm P.Patr.08) ammunition, and issued to a variety of German 2nd line military troops and police. Such pistols were usually marked on the slide with "08" or "P-08", to distinguish them from original guns chambered for 9x23 Steyr ammunition. It was in service in a limited capacity for the Wehrmacht until the end of World War II.

FNP-45 pistol

The FN Herstal FNP pistol is a series of semi-automatic, polymer-framed pistols manufactured in Columbia, SC, by FNH USA, a division of Fabrique Nationale de Herstal. The pistol debuted in early 2006 and is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and .357 SIG cartridges.

FNP 45 pistol is the next step in evolution of the FNP 9 / FNP 40 pistols line. First announced in 2007, the FNP 45 is just one of the many new, modern .45 caliber pistols which recently hit the civilian and law enforcement markets in USA. The increased interest in full-size, high capacity .45ACP pistols can be in part attributed to the several unsuccessful attempts of US armed forces to re-adopt this cartridge over the 9x19 NATO in the search of better stopping power. The same reason (combat effectiveness / stopping power) causes many police organizations and civilian shooters to re-think the role of the century-old .45ACP round. FNH USA, the US-based subsidiary of the famous Belgian arms-making company FN Herstal, took this cartridge and developed this serious service-type pistol. Based on its predecessors, FNP 45 is somewhat bigger and heavier than its 9mm/.40 caliber 'older brothers', and is best suited for holster carry. It features improved ergonomics, with fully ambidextrous controls and modular grip backstrap. Front of the frame is shaped to form Picatinny rail which can accept a wide variety of accessories like laser sights or tactical lights. The modular hammer units for FNP 45 are available in two versions - with manual safety that permits "cocked and locked" carry or with decock-only function (gun shall be carried with hammer lowered over the loaded chamber).
